Homemade gummies are a delightful and healthier alternative to store-bought candies. Made with natural fruit juice and minimal ingredients, they offer a flavorful treat that can be customized to various tastes.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 ½ cups of fruit juice (your choice, but avoid pineapple, kiwi, and papaya as they can affect gelling)
  • ½ cup of water
  • ¼ cup of gelatin powder
  • ½ cup of granulated sugar (or honey to taste)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • 1 tsp of citric acid (for tartness, optional)
  • Additional sugar for coating (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Gather fruit juice, unflavored gelatin, and granulated sugar.
  • Blooming the Gelatin: Sprinkle gelatin over a portion of fruit juice in a bowl and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to bloom.
  • Heat the Mixture: Warm the remaining fruit juice in a saucepan over low heat. Add bloomed gelatin and stir until dissolved.
  • Add Sugar: Gradually add sugar to the warm mixture, stirring until fully dissolved.
  • Pour the Mixture: Pour the mixture into molds or a dish lightly coated with oil.
  • Refrigerate: Place in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours until set.
  • Unmold: Remove gummies from molds or cut into desired shapes if using a dish.
